This activity is designed for retina specialists and other members of the interprofessional and multidisciplinary team involved in the management of geographic atrophy in the U.S.

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to: 

  • Assess clinical and multimodal imaging features that differentiate early and intermediate age-related macular degeneration (AMD) from geographic atrophy (GA)

  • Analyze the role of the complement system in GA pathogenesis and the mechanism of action of complement-targeted therapies

  • Select appropriate candidates for complement inhibitor therapy and integrate these agents into evidence-based care pathways for patients with GA secondary to AMD

  • Implement structured, evidence-based monitoring strategies to track GA progression and guide patient care
